Our Story

Born from a vision of community solidarity, our social supermarket began as a grassroots initiative to address food insecurity during a time of rising living costs and increasing financial pressure on households. We recognised that traditional food banks, while vital, do not always provide the shopping experience that allows people to choose products that suit their needs.

What started as conversations in community centres has grown into a thriving hub where members do more than shop, they connect, learn, and support one another. We have built more than a supermarket; we have created a community where everyone feels welcome.

Founder & Director

Chanel grew up in a community where neighbours looked out for each other, witnessing firsthand how food brings people together and creates lasting bonds. This inspired her to create a space where everyone feels welcome and valued. She's passionate about building connections, fostering hope, and proving that when communities work together, they can overcome any challenge they face.
